Detecting Java

Users lacking a functional Java plugin can be directed to the appropriate resources when ChemWriter is deployed using a best practices method.

Any valid HTML placed within an enclosing <object> tag serves as fallback content that will be rendered in the event that the Java plugin is either missing or disabled. Fallback content can, for example, consist of images, links, text, or their combination.

This site uses fallback content consisting of an image indicating that a plugin is missing and a link to a page with browser-specific instructions for installing/enabling the Java plugin.
